Women and Children’s Rights
At SPAG Women Forward Initiative, we recognize that food security is fundamental to sustainable development and community resilience. Our approach focuses on empowering smallholder farmers, particularly women, with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to achieve self-reliance. By providing training in modern, climate-smart agricultural techniques, access to quality seeds, and support for sustainable farming practices, we help communities increase their food production and economic stability. Through Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) and cooperative models, women farmers can pool resources, access credit, and build resilience against economic shocks, ensuring long-term food security for their families and communities.
Women face systemic barriers that limit their ability to fully participate in society, from economic exclusion to cultural and legal constraints. We work to break these barriers by providing women with access to education, vocational training, and economic opportunities, enabling them to become self-sufficient and independent. Through advocacy and capacity-building initiatives, we empower women with the knowledge of their rights and equip them with leadership skills to participate in decision-making at all levels. We also collaborate with local authorities and stakeholders to push for gender-responsive policies that promote equity and justice.

Children, particularly those from vulnerable communities, face numerous challenges, including child labor, exploitation, and limited access to education and healthcare. Our organization works to create safe environments where children can thrive, free from harm and neglect. We promote access to quality education by supporting school enrollment, providing learning materials, and advocating for policies that protect children’s right to education. Additionally, we run mentorship and psychosocial support programs that help children develop resilience and self-confidence, ensuring their holistic well-being.
A major component of our work focuses on preventing and responding to gender-based violence (GBV) against women and children. Through awareness campaigns, community dialogues, and legal aid services, we create safe spaces where survivors can seek justice and support. We also work with local governments, law enforcement, and civil society organizations to strengthen policies and response mechanisms that protect the most vulnerable.
By championing the rights of women and children, we are fostering a society where everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential. Our commitment is to create an inclusive and just world where women and children are not only protected but also empowered to lead and shape their futures
